[November 2016] The RV Factory, which manufactures the Weekend Warrior toy hauler and the Avion Van has acquired Augusta RV. Augusta makes two brands of fifth wheels — Ambition and Luxe — and will continue operating under the same name as a subsidiary of The RV Factory.
Both The RV Factory and Augusta are factory-direct manufacturers, meaning they don’t partner with dealerships to sell RVs. The RV Factory has approximately 40 employees and Augusta has approximately 80.
Both companies will be moving to a 77,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Elkhart, Ind. The new plant is expected to be fully operational by Dec. 1.
“We are very excited to consolidate these two good companies in order to make one great company,” said Brian Shea, Founder of The RV Factory. “Having the opportunity to share best practices and pool our resources will make the company very strong.”
“This move allows the Augusta team to continue to build some of the best products in the fifth wheel market, while maximizing our efforts with The RV Factory,” said George Thomas, Founder of Augusta RV. “Brian and I have known each other for 30 years and it will be fun to go to the next level together,” he said.
