Webinar: Ready to Save the Planet with Us?

CuroGens CEO, Jesper Kehlet, recently hosted a webinar on green technologies and ways to launch sustainable practices in your business. Today’s businesses are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint and do their part in leaving the world a better than they found it. Here at CuroGens, we have taken a good look at our own methods and recognized where we have to change our own mindsets and actions, before assisting others.  We have put our money where our mouth is, so to speak, and initiated some more sustainable habits company wide, with a plan to move towards a greener business model overall.

Part of our mission is environmental stewardship through our own actions as well as offering guidance to our customers who share the same views. Please read below and see what Jesper has to offer as possible ideas for your business, digital transformation that works, and a greener business model.

This blog is the Q&A session from the end of the webinar. If you’d like to listen to the presentation in its entirety, you will find the link below.

Q: What are good first steps for any business to take, when wanting to become more sustainable?

A: A good place to start to ensure success, is to start small. Consider what you can do to help reduce waste in your workspace/office. Are you printing a lot? Traveling a lot? Look at the various different impacts that you around the company. Do an inventory of travel profiles, printing profiles, etc. Once you have an understanding of where and how waste is created in your business, then ask yourself, “How can we reduce that? Can we print less? Can we change how we travel; how often, and how many people are traveling?” These are all areas where you can start and begin to see a real impact right away. More importantly, it needs to become a mindset of the company that all of your employees can buy into and participate in.

Leadership is essential in this, start at the top. Company leaders are a reflection of the business, people really do look to their leaders for examples to follow. The old adage, “don’t do as I do, do as I say” has long ago died away. If you want people to embrace change, they should see their leaders doing it first. Leaders can promote transition in their companies, by leading with their own examples of change and action.

Q: Are there any issue with accessing the latest and greatest real time data in Lasernet in an age where employees are spread out across the globe?

A: No not really. One of the things we have been doing ourselves internally, is that we have moved all our servers to the cloud, no more physical servers left in our office spaces anymore. We did this because the cloud products out there- Microsoft, Azure, etc.- have such a high degree of availability these days, that regardless of where you are, and wherever you deploy, you can access it from anywhere. And you can access it in real time, so there are no real issues with accessing data within Lasernet or any other data within the cloud anymore. Some people may hold onto a dated perception of what the cloud is, and that real time isn’t really real time, but that is definitely not the case with Lasernet.

Q: What capabilities does D365 have in term of predictive analysis to avoid excess inventory, overspending on materials, and over filling warehouses?

A: Actually, in the latest releases of D365, there’s an integration with Microsoft AI/ML components that allows users of the D365 to have more efficient view of the demand planning and demand forecasting. This allows for limits on the components that they have in the warehouses, especially over the last nine months. Many companies have experienced challenges within their supply chain, and it has become even more important that we don’t stock up a ton of resources in warehouses but can’t easily access them. We need as lean of a supply chain as possible, and this is where D365 is making some inroads into AI integration with demand planning and demand forecasting in the future.

Q: What role is green technology playing in cost reduction for the supplier? Are there specific areas where we can expect to save?

A: Green technology is an investment that will show its ROI, by helping reduce cost in the future. You’re going to find that down the road that you are spending less on physical resources like paper, ink cartridges, etc. One example is a document output solution like Lasernet, or digital signing solutions like DocuSign or SignEasy, contribute to net savings later on. Lasernet can reduce your document handling costs by up to 55% and that definitely gives you the ROI you’re hoping for.

Q:  Am I able to gather data across multiple supply chains across with in D365 and or Lasernet?

A:  Absolutely! D365 which is our primary choice for a core ERP solution, but especially with Lasernet, both have the ability to aggregate data from multiple different data sources. Effectively implemented, Lasernet, with D365 can actually take your whole robotic process automation to a whole new level. By being able to aggregate multiple different data sources into your ERP system, it optimizes the way you do business. You have to think about the way you get your data today-whether you get it via fax or EDI, or simply on paper in the mail. We can most definitely help you come up with a solution that effectively assists you with gathering data from those varied data sources using D365 and or Lasernet.

Q: Do you offer a sustainability package or road map for businesses that may be overwhelmed with moving to greener business model?

A:  We can help with road map. If our customers come to us and say, “We would like to do something that helps us move to greener business model quicker,” then we can take inventory of ways their business can take those steps and we can assist in that process. A lot of people think of us just the purveyor of technology solutions, but we are also working with companies across the world in helping with their digital business transformation journey. We actually have very skilled consultants that help look at these various different components that can help direct a greener impact on the business as a whole. We can help with those ROI calculations to make you can visualize those cost reductions by taking on greener initiatives on the endeavor to becoming more sustainable.
